With its marquee events during NYCxDESIGN in May, WantedDesign is a platform dedicated to promoting design and fostering the international creative community at large throughout the year. Founded in New York City in 2011 by Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat, WantedDesign has established itself as a constant and staunch supporter of U.S. and international design via events, conversations, and partners and its yearly programming aims to nurture New York City’s design dialogue.
We are very proud to announce that the EXOCET™ Chair was chosen by WantedDesign and will be showcased at the 3rd edition of the Launch Pad Program.
This year’s Launch Pad Program returns with a group of select market-ready prototypes from 26 international design studios and independent designers, who are looking for manufacturers, retailers, or distributors. On May 18, a jury of professionals will review the products and award the best with The Launch Pad prize. The winner receives a free Launch Pad participation at WantedDesign 2016 and at WestEdge Design Fair in Los Angeles in October 2015. The Jury will include: Jaime Derringer, Founder and Executive Editor of Design Milk; Marva Griffin Wilshire, Salone del Mobile, Milano, Founder and Curator SaloneSatellite, International Press Director; and Noah Schwartz, Senior Buyer, Design Within Reach. The public will also get a chance to vote for their favorite, starting April 20.
The International Design Event will take place in Manhattan, New York City, from May 15 to 18, 2015, in The Tunnel, located on 11th avenue between 27th and 28th street.
WantedDesign’s original event location, the landmark Terminal Stores building on 11th Avenue in West Chelsea’s Historic District, has become a creative destination for the international design community in May, offering participants and visitors a unique and dynamic experience. The event also serves as a popular and inspiring meeting point for designers, manufacturers, buyers, distributors, craftsmen, students, design institutions, the press and all design lovers.
